In 2016, Jenna OTR/L graduated from Long Island University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She is a board certified Occupational Therapist. Jenna completed her capstone research project on a Swim For Life Program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Jenna completed clinical affiliations at NYU Lutheran Hospital, Occupational Therapy Pathways sensory gym, and Barrier Free Living (domestic violence and disabilities program). Jenna took part in a service trip to Belize where she joined an inter-professional team providing occupational therapy services to an undeserved population at a pediatric clinic.
Jenna’s experience in these various clinical settings fostered her creativity, cultural sensitivity, adaptability and overall therapeutic skills. These experiences solidified her desire to work as a pediatric Occupational Therapist where she can use her skills, passion and energy to provide quality occupational therapy services.
Soon after graduation, Jenna went on to work in pediatrics in a school setting and a sensory gym. She has always been drawn to children as she feels she can use her creative abilities to improve their functioning in daily activities. In 2017, she joined the Department of Education, where she now provides occupational therapy services for children with multiple disabilities.
Jenna seeks to learn about the current research behind occupational therapy techniques/services as she attends various continuing education courses related to pediatric therapy. She strives to build strong foundation skills for children to succeed in all areas of functioning and daily activities. When she is not working, Jenna loves exercising, baking and traveling. Jenna is also drawn to volunteering with adoption events for animals.
